MICHELE MANZO (ITALY)

Michele Manzo is a talented musician and composer who cut his teeth playing the guitar and bass for hip hop and funk & soul bands. With jazz and funk firmly rooted in his foundation, he has since performed and collaborated with some of the industry’s influential artists the likes of Georgia Ann Muldrow, Dudley Perkins aka Declaime, Illa J, Frank Nitt, and was the opening act for Yancey Boys and Talib Kweli in 2014.

Manzo is also the co-founder of The Mixtapers, a 100% organic band recorded with vintage synths, old drum machines and instruments - which had a release titled “We So Good”, signed under German independent label, Sonar Kollektive.

In 2018, Manzo toured with British soul singer, songwriter and musician Soul Omar Lye-Fook, and modern funk artist Amalia of Tokyo Dawn Records. In the same year, he also produced his Lonely Horizon album under Inner Ocean records, which featured collaborators such as J-LIVE and Moniquea.

Manzo started off 2019 with a bang by releasing “Burning Chrome”, a 3 track concept EP influenced by the works of Cyberpunk author William Gibson - His latest LP entitled “ALL RISE” with Darker Than Wax has earned him worldwide praise and support from the likes of Moses Boyd, Tom Ravenscroft, Lefto, Carista and Bradley Zero, just to name a few - Michele’s journey shows no signs of slowing down.
