ARCHIE (JKT)
Music and spinning started out as a personal hobby, and with a bit of passion and a stroke of luck - Archie has grown to be one of the brightest selectors in Jakarta.
Archie started on the decks since 2009, also producing & remixing tracks on the side. He saw his beginnings from crashing the console at house parties, progressively moving on to gigs in bars, clubs, festivals and international gigs.
He has since been playing alongside international tastemakers such as of LeFtO (Brownswood / Studio Brussels, Belgium), Dam-Funk (Stones Throw, USA), ONRA (Fools Gold, France), Chris Karns (DMC World Champion, USA), Basic Soul Unit (Philpot / New Kanada, Canada), Detroit Swin-
dle (Heist Recordings / Freerange Records, Nederland), Alex Barck (Jazzanova / SonarKollektiv, Germany), Auntie Flo (Public Possession, Germany) and San Soda (We Play House, Belgium).
This selector has brought his musical chops to a number of familiar and unfamiliar venues, running monthly nights called “ Ketoprak Malem ”, " SCRUBS! ", and ” TROPICANA ” along with Jakar-
ta's rising selectors. As one half of AKU SUKA MATEMATIKA duo, Archie always has something in the box that surprises.
A sound enthusiast gratifies the audience with an honest and tasteful selection, with varying styles ranging from hip-hop, soul, beats, boogie, balearic, jungle, house, bass and beyond.
